In June, HPCwire highlighted the new MN-3 supercomputer: a 1.6 Linpack petaflops system delivering 21.1 gigaflops per watt of power, making it the most energy-efficient supercomputer in the world – at least, according to the latest Green500 list, the Top500’s energy-conscious cousin.

A platform that we do not cover all the time is the Supermicro SuperBlade platform. They are so big that we only get to review them every so often. The last time we did was in the Xeon E5 V3/ V4 era where we reviewed a 7U Supermicro SuperBlade.
