I am in the process of troubleshooting my Supermicro motherboard which I have had for many years. The manual speaks of POST codes. What does POST mean?
The Acronym POST stands for Power On Self Test. When a motherboard is powered on the BIOS performs a series of test. The BIOS can generate an error beep code on some issues, but if you use a POST card it will give a number where the system fails and this number can tell you what subsystem the motherboard stops in POST.
