Question
How can I configure the on-board Serial ATA (SATA) RAID function on my X5DAL-TG2 board?
Answer
1. At the POST, hit the delete key to go inside the BIOS setup.

2. Scroll over to the "Advanced" tab, under Advanced chipset control and enable "Serial ATA RAID feature":

3. Hit "F10" to save & exit.

4. Hit CTRL-S or F4 to go inside the Silicon Image configuration utility. NOTE: You can only configure one SiI3112 chip at a time. So you can configure RAID 0 or 1 on channels 1 and 2 and RAID 0 or 1 or on channels 3 and 4.

5. Create a RAID set and select whether you wish to configure it "Striped" (RAID 0) or "Mirrored" (RAID 1).

6. Choose whether to configure it automatically or manually. If you would like to create a mirror with an existing SATA drive on the same channel select manual, otherwise select automatic.

7. Select escape to exit. RAID 1 will show up as shown below.
