New “Bergamo” and “Genoa-X” based Servers Now Available from Supermicro

Supermicro is expanding its H13 AMD server product line and incorporating the newest AMD CPUs. The new servers will give customers more application-optimized options for demanding workloads while reducing TCO and enhancing workload performance for technical computing and cloud native applications.

What’s New with the Hyper-U?

The Hyper product family from Supermicro is now even better than ever before. This new system contains a single AMD EPYC™ 9004 processor with up to 128 cores and up to 6TB of DRAM in a single-socket system. The Hyper-U is built for cloud native applications that require many cores and large amounts of memory, such as virtualization and HCI, where the system can consolidate an unprecedented number of VMs in one system (customers can fit more than five times the VMs compared to a typical server from a just a few years ago), and with the cost savings of a single CPU. You may be able to reduce your licensing costs as well.

What is Bergamo?

With the most cores of any x86 CPU, the new AMD “Bergamo” processor is ideal for cloud native workloads that benefit from 128 cores. Any Supermicro A+ Server qualified with 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors can now use the amazing Bergamo CPU.

Why do I want the new Genoa-X CPU?

With the 3D V-Cache added with the Genoa-X CPUs, AMD is increasing the amount of L3 Cache by 50% compared to the previous generation of AMD EPYC with 3D V-Cache technology processors. Genoa-X processors have 3x of Level 3 cache compared to the highest-end regular Genoa CPU. Having more data close to the CPU increases the performance of HPC applications needing fast data access. All Supermicro A+ Servers that use the AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors can also use the new CPU with AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology.

New Hyper-U Servers From Supermicro include:

  • AS -1115HS-TNR – Single CPU, Up to 6TB DRAM DDR5-4800 MHz, Up to 8 2.5” Drive Bays NVMe/SAS/SATA, 1U
  • AS -2015HS-TNR – Single CPU, Up to 6TB DRAM DDR5-4800 MHz, Up to 12 3.5” Drive Bays supporting NVMe/SAS/SATA, 2U
  • AS -2115HS-TNR – Single CPU, Up to 6TB DRAM DDR5-4800 MHz, Up to 24 2.5” Drive Bays supporting NVMe/SAS/SATA, 2U

Two new 4th Gen AMD EPYC CPUs have been introduced:

  • AMD EPYC 9754 CPU and the AMD EPYC 9734 CPU – These processors contain 128 and 112 cores, respectively, the highest core count for any x86 processor. Codenamed “Bergamo”, Supermicro servers that use these processors will excel at cloud native applications that require a high core count in a single or dual socket configuration.
  • 4th Generation AMD EPYC™ Processors with AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology (Codename “Genoa-X”) – Each CPU has up to 1,152MB of L3 cache. This new CPU dramatically increases the performance of technical computing applications where frequent memory access is required, such as in applications in FEA, CFD, and EDA.

All Supermicro H13 servers currently certified for the 4th Generation AMD EPYC™ 9004 Series Processor can use the AMD EPYC 9754 and 9734 CPUs, or the new 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors with AMD 3D V-Cache technology!!!
