I have an older Supermicro motherboard - X9DRI-LN4+ and I have purchased an internal Western Digital Black NVME SSD drive.  I bought an off-brand adapter and the bios do not recognize the device on boot up yet I can still install the operating system.  Can you please tell me how I can get my motherboard to show this PCIE NVME SSD as an option to boot from?
The motherboard does not support booting from M.2 because it does not have AMI Native NVME support.  So, generally speaking, our X9 generation motherboards do not support booting from M.2.
