Media Alert: Supermicro Unveils New Solution for SAP HANA at SAPPHIRE NOW
On May 7-9, 2019, Supermicro is showcasing its new solution for SAP HANA for scale-up in-memory environments based on the Supermicro 4-Way MP server, allowing real-time On Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) and On Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) on the same system. Designed for the most demanding, mission-critical workloads, Supermicro’s 4 socket server (SYS-2049U-TR4) supports the highest performance 2nd generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors with up to 112 cores in one system. Combining Intel® Optane™ DC persistent memory together with DRAM enables affordable large-scale memory that is ideal for the SAP HANA platform, providing data persistence in the scale-up environment which improves SAP database restart times by a factor of 12.5.
Supermicro’s solution for SAP HANA simplifies the deployment of scale-up environments by offering pre-tested and verified hardware designed together by Intel, SAP and Supermicro. Supermicro is extending the solution by developing sizing options to be available through the SAP HANA Tailored Datacenter Integration (TDI) model. This will be part of an upcoming Intel® Select Solution for SAP HANA, expected to be available in the third quarter of 2019.
