How to preserve H12SSFF-AN6 MB/system BMC setup when updating BMC from v01.02.59 (or earlier version) to v01.04.02?
Answer
Please follow below steps to preserve the BMC setup configuration when BMC from v01.02.59 (or earlier version) to v01.04.02.
1. Download the BIOS/BMC bundle FW package from product webpage.
2. Before updating BMC, please use SUM form the bundle package with command “GetBmcCfg” to get the BMC setup configuration.
3. Open the BMC cfg file, search for “TimeZone”. Then change it to “(UTC+00:00) Coordinated Universal Time” (the default value).

4. Login to BMC webpage, manually record Network/BMC Settings/Virtual media settings.
5. Flash BMC to v01.04.02 without saving any BMC setup configuration.
6. Use SUM “ChangeBmcCfg” with option “--skip_unknown” to restore your BMC setup configuration.
(ex: “sum -i xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. -u XXXX -p XXXX -c changeBmccfg --file xxxxx.xml --skip_unknown”)
7. Login to BMC webpage, manually change Network/BMC Settings/Virtual media settings back.
If you need to do mass BMC setting deployments on v01.04.02, after above steps. You can “GetBmcCfg” to get new BMC cfg and deploy to other MB/system.
