Question
We're testing AMD EPYC H11DSi MB with Samsung 961 M.2, but we can't make it work and able to detect by Windows or Linux, any suggestion?
Answer
Our BIOS is by default using M.2 drive Vendor defined EFI OpROM/firmware. Only for those M.2 drives without OpROM, we’ll recommend changing BIOS option to "AMI Native Support". This option will change the NVMe Firmware Source with AMI Native EFI OpROM/firmware.
Below is the summary for BIOS setting.
Standalone with M.2:
Change BIOS setup menu >> Advanced >> PCI/PCIe/PnP Configuration >> NVMe Firmware Source >> AMI Native Support.
M.2 with Intel AIC P3100/P4800X/P4600 or similar NVMe AIC type:
a. Change slot #x, where the card is installed, OpROM to EFI
b. Change M.2 OpROM to EFI
c. Change BIOS setup menu >> Advanced >> PCI/PCIe/PnP Configuration >> NVMe Firmware Source >> AMI Native Support.
Intel platform also keeps this option default with “Vendor defined firmware”, for your reference.
